PRESCHOOL
During March we will explore pockets and other clever containers, as well as magnetism. Chapel donations go to the Thumb Breadbasket, which is a local food distribution effort. Our math activities will include graphing, counting, estimating and numerals. Science concepts are magnets and marsupials. At the art table we will be marble painting and easel painting. Our jobs will be tracing, cutting, gluing, coloring, and cooking.
REMEMBER THAT THERE IS NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY, MARCH 15.
REGISTRATION FOR 2010-2011:
Returning students may register for next year any time during the week of March 8-11, by sending the $35 registration/materials fee and noting the days of the week you wish for your child to attend.
MUSIC
Get ready for music Music-Palooza! Mark your calendars for the evening of April 22, when the bands will play, classrooms will present some of their favorite music activities, and all grades K-8 will combine to present a few mini-musical skits. Parents, please watch the upcoming school newsletters for ways to help out with this project.
We are pleased this year to offer two 45-minute general music classes per week for grades K-2 and 3-5, as well as a 30-minute class for grades 6-8. We are also offering two levels of band instruction, in this second year of our band program. Beginning band meets on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Advanced band meets Mondays through Thursdays. Following is our instrumentation this year: 3 flutes, 2 clarinets, 1 saxophone, 1 coronet and 1 trombone.
